A new brood of cicadas, a jumping bug in the family Auchenorrhyncha, are set to emerge in some Southern states after almost 17 years underground. Entomologists predict that at least 1.5 million cicadas per acre could flock to parts of Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
