Hey! This is Anil and I am going to explain you about Equivalent Resistors in Parallel Connection and explain you about the equation of combination of parallel connection in this video so watch this full video and I am sure that at last you will come to know about what is parallel resistors and what is equation of parallel resistors. So I hope you will enjoy this video. For better understanding you can follow the notes given below:-
Combination of Resistors in Parallel Connection:-
If there are more than one path for the flow of electric current in a circuit then the combination of such resistance are called “Resistors in Parallel Connection”.
Consider resistors R1 R2 R3 which are connected in parallel. The current splits into three and flows through the each resistors but the voltage remains same across each resistors.
Therefore total current I = i1 + i2 + i3
The potential difference across R1 = V1 = i1R1 =} i1 = v/R1………………. (1)
The potential difference across R2 = V2 = i2R2 =} i2 = v/R2……………….. (2)
The potential difference across R3 = V2 = i3R3 =} i3 = v/R3…………………. (3)
In each case of parallel connection the equivalent resistance (R) and current (i) then
Ip = v/Rp……………….... (4)
Therefor ip = i1 + i2 + i3
From the above equations
v/Rp = v/R1 + v/R2 + v/R3
V/Rp = V [ 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 ] Here L.H.S of “V’ and R.H.S of “V” get cancel.
1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
For “n” number of resistors in parallel connection is
1/RP = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 +_____________________+Rn.
