Spiritual leader Bhayyuji Maharaj, who was recently accorded with the status of a state minister, shot himself in Indore on Tuesday. Maharaj shot himself in the head and was admitted to Bombay Hospital in Indore where he succumbed to injuries, according to police. Bhayyuji, whose original name was Uday Singh Deshmukh, was quite popular in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh because of his spiritual and social works. On hearing the news, hundreds of his followers gathered outside the Bombay Hospital.
