Celebrities and well-known figures are demanding justice in the now high-profile case of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old unarmed black man who was shot and killed while running in a Georgia neighborhood on February 23. Arbery was fatally shot after being followed by two white men in a truck, now two suspects identified as former law enforcement officer Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34. No arrests were made in the case until a cellphone video was leaked in May, two months after the incident, which shows Arbery struggling with one of two white men outside the truck shortly before his death. Days after the video's release, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested the men and charged them with murder and aggravated assault. Georgia officials have vowed to investigate why it took over 2 months to arrest the McMichaels.
