Former Indian seamer Irfan Pathan has opened up on his Under-19 tour of Pakistan in 2003 that was indeed the turning point of his career. Irfan Pathan has fond memories attached when it comes to the rival nation, having taken a Test hat-trick in Karachi back in 2006. He toured Pakistan for the first time in 2004 under Sourav Ganguly and delivered many match-winning performances against the Men in Green. But 2003 was also the year when there existed an unwillingness in him to tour Pakistan.

2003-04 का वो पाकिस्तान दौरा इरफ़ान पठान के लिए लकी साबित हुआ था. उस दौरे पर इरफ़ान पठान ने भारत की तरफ से काफी खतरनाक गेंदबाजी की थी. उन्होंने हैट्रिक लेने का कारनामा किया था. जबकि टीम इंडिया पहली बार पाकिस्तान में टेस्ट सीरीज जीतने में कामयाब भी हुई थी. लेकिन, क्या आपको पता है उस वक्त इरफ़ान पठान पाकिस्तान दौरे पर जाना ही नहीं चाहते थे. लगभग 16 सालों के बाद पठान ने इस बात का खुलासा किया है. एक लाइव सेशन के दौरान पठान ने पाकिस्तान दौरे का जिक्र किया. 2003 में 14 सालों में पहली बार अंडर19 टीम पाकिस्तान का दौरा कर रही थी. जब उन्हें दौरे के लिए चुना गया तब वह 19 साल के थे और पाकिस्तान नहीं जाना चाहते थे. इरफान ने बताया, ' मैं अंडर19 टीम के साथ पाकिस्तान के दौरे पर जाना ही नहीं चाहता था.
