Several towns and villages have been cut off and people marooned in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, as flood situation in Chittorgarh, Kota and Barmer continued to worsen. Rescue teams of the Army and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) airlifted 16 people from the worst-hit areas. A company of NDRF rescuers has been deployed in Jhalawar and Bhilwara each, besides an Army column in Chittorgarh.
