The Justice Department filed a motion to drop its case against former national security adviser Michael Flynn. The FBI accused Flynn of lying to investigators about his communications with Russian officials in a January 2017 interview. According to Business Insider, Flynn pleaded guilty in December 2017 to making false statements. But then Flynn moved to withdraw his plea and his attorney asked for the case to be dismissed because of prosecutorial misconduct and entrapment. The DOJ moving to drop the case would demonstrate the FBI acted improperly and violated protocol.
