The apex court has offered a solution that some states are already mulling. The Supereme Court has advised the states to consider indirect sale, home delivery of liquor to ensure minimal crowds and enforcement of social distancing protocols at alcohol shops across the country, while declining to entertain a public interest litigation seeking a ban on direct sale of liquor through shops during the lockdown period.
