트럼프 "합의 파기" 발언에 미중 무역전쟁 재개 우려 '솔솔'

As the coronavirus-driven confrontation between the U.S. and China continues,... fears are escalating it could blow back into their already shaky trade relations.
Experts fear tensions could escalate to the form of another trade war between the world's two superpowers.
Kim Hyo-sun reports.
U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened China that Washington could walk away from the phase one trade deal with Beijing, which briefly put the trade war between the world's two largest economies at rest.
According to the White House Tuesday,... President Trump said the trade deal could be terminated if Beijing does not make good on its commitment to buy 250 billion U.S. dollars-worth of U.S. goods.
During a Fox News virtual town hall meeting on Sunday,... President Trump added he's also mulling additional tariffs on Beijing,... which he called the "ultimate punishment."
Senior Trump administration officials have already floated the idea of restarting tariffs on China to hold the country accountable for its role as the original epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak and for Beijing's lack of communication with the world at critical stages.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is continuing to slam Beijing,... saying China has a history of infecting the world.
President Trump's trade adviser Peter Navarro also said this week that the Chinese Communist Party lied about the spread of the virus, which has led to the deaths of many across the world.
An expert on China issues at the American Enterprise Institute told U.S.-based Foreign Policy that President Trump will continue to ratchet up his hostile rhetoric against Beijing as he prepares for the presidential election in November.
