An Indonesian couple were flogged by officials indoors instead of in front of a crowd due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Large numbers of spectators usually gather to watch the religious punishment but due to COVID-19 lockdown restraints, only a few attended.

Filmed in Banda Aceh on April 21, several officials are seen wearing face masks as they watch the pair get caned. However, the victims were seen not wearing face masks.
