A disabled woman born without arms is helping to fight the coronavirus by sewing face masks for health workers using her feet.

The kind lady named Norfarrah Syahirah Shaari, 32, was born without arms but it did not stop her from helping the medical staff in her home town in Selangor, Malaysia.

Footage from April 11 shows how she nimbly uses just her feet to sew the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) with the sewing machine.

The production of masks is part of Teluk Intan Community College's programme to support medical staff.

She and 34 of her colleagues are working on the medical equipment needed in hospitals.

The talented Norfarrah said she learned how to use a sewing machine because she wanted to make her own clothes.

She said: "I have learned how to use the sewing machine around eight years ago as I need customised clothes for my body.

"It was hard at first but after a lot of hard work and patience I finally could use it swiftly."

She added that it was an honour to dedicate her skills to help the medical staff who are fighting COVID-19.

Norfarrah said: "Everyone has their role here and I am in charge of the sewing. It made me proud to be in the programme offering the staff the necessary equipment."
