병무청 "병역판정검사 중단 8주만에 재개"
South Korean men over the age of 19 are subject to medical checkups to see if they are physically and mentally fit for the country's compulsory military service.
However, this year's check-ups, which had been postponed for eight weeks as a precautionary measure in light of the COVID-19 outbreak,... are to resume from Monday.
This according to the Military Manpower Administration, which undersees the conscription process..
Those at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 are excluded,... including those who have been overseas within the past 14 days.
Others excluded are those who have recently visited facilities with cluster infections and those released from self-quarantine within the past 30 days.
Those deemed fit are legally obliged to serve about two years.
