Speaking about the major issues that would impact polls in Delhi, senior journalist Manoj Gairola said, "Traditionally in New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, candidates have not belonged to the constituency and issues have not been local." He added, "People like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rajesh Khanna have been candidates from here and people voted them because national issues were crucial at that time."
