President Moon Jae-in held a virtual summit with the leaders of ASEAN members as well as China and Japan.
He stressed the need for regional cooperation and vowed to share South Korea's first-hand experience in dealing with the pandemic.

President Moon Jae-in says South Korea will secure additional funding for humanitarian assistance and to provide support to those in need of help in the fight against COVID-19.
Speaking at the virtual summit with the leaders of ASEAN member nations, China and Japan,... Moon stressed the need for both bilateral and multilateral cooperation within the region...to provide quarantine and medical supplies in a timely manner saying that all possible resources must be deployed.
We are discussing ways to utilize the ASEAN-ROK Cooperation Fund. I hope we can overcome the COVID-19 crisis together by mobilizing all the resources at our disposal, including the assistance made through trust funds at the Asian Development Bank as well as funding raised at the ASEAN+3 level.
Moon also called for the strengthening of regional health ties to share and utilize clinical data,... and to step up efforts to develop vaccines and treatments.
He proposed establishing dialogue channels between health ministers of ASEAN and South Korea... as well as with China and Japan.
The President also added that maintaining the essential flow of economic and human exchanges, trade, investment and food is needed to minimize the economic repercussions.
He again proposed the permitting of travel for essential persons such as business leaders and medical staff expressing hope that global supply chains will be made operational to the maximum extent beginning with ASEAN+3.
Moon stressed that COVID-19 is a crisis that cannot be overcome with countries acting independently,... adding that South Korea will share its first-hand experience and know-how.
While we still need to guard against complacency, we are gradually entering a phase of stabilization. The things that have proven indispensable are intensive testing and tracing, thorough epidemiological surveillance and the voluntary participation of the people based on transparent information-sharing.
The ASEAN+3 leaders agreed to establish a system to reserve medical supplies,... as well as to set up a ASEAN virus response fund.
President Moon said that he hopes the cooperative initiatives agreed upon on Tuesday will lead to tangible outcomes and that their collective contributions can put an end to the COVID-19 crisis.
