Nine years after anti-government protests in Syria erupted, the 21st century’s deadliest conflict to date is entering its 10th year. On March 15, 2011, Syrians took to the streets after 15 boys were detained and tortured for writing graffiti in support of anti-government protests during the Arab spring.
