Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Saturday night said the ministry had identified 4,942 participants out of the 14,500 Malaysians who attended a religious event held at a mosque in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur recently.
He said 3,069 people had gone to health clinics for inspection and screening with 137 of them been referred to hospitals.
1,634 participants are experiencing symptoms of respiratory tract infection and have been sampled.
