ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡೀಸೆಲ್ ಮೇಲಿನ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಆದೇಶ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಲೀಟರ್ ಗೆ 3 ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಮಾಡಿ ಆದೇಶ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಚ್ಚಾತೈಲ ಬೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ಕುಸಿತವಾದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
