Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd Sued
Over 'Black Panther' Sample The rapper and singer are being sued for
allegedly stealing for their collaboration,
"Pray for Me," from a Brooklyn-based rock band. Yeasayer claims the duo used a "distinctive choral performance" from their 2007 track "Sunrise" and made it a "material and substantial portion" of the single
from hit film's soundtrack. According to PageSix, the band is accusing Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd of "intent to conceal the infringement" and used it at least eight times in "Pray for Me." The band is seeking an undisclosed
amount in damages and profit. They're asking for an injunction to stop the sales and licensing of the song due to an alleged copyright infringement.
