An alleged thief sought the help of morning walkers in Bangalore, south India, to rescue him from the third floor window of a house where he was stranded.
The walkers alerted the family which lived in the house, who called the police and the fire brigade personnel. The firemen brought down him down with the help of a ladder.
Police sources said the man had probably climbed to the third floor and tried to break in through the window on the early hours of February 23.
But he was unable to get in as it was secured with a grill. He then lost the nerve to climb down and called for help when he spotted the morning walkers from above.
The man, has been identified as Suhant B (28), a construction worker.
“He is claiming he climbed to the third floor while fleeing from a drunken fight with his colleagues. We are probing all angles,” said a police officer.
