Greek organizers of the ceremony that will light the flame for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics said they have taken steps to prepare for "any health issue that might arise."
The Olympic flame will be lit in Ancient Olympia on March 12 and will go on an eight-day relay around the country before being handed over to Tokyo organizers in Athens on March 19.
"We can reassure everyone that we will do our best so that we have no problems whatsoever," said Thanasis Vasileiadis, chairman of the Olympic Torch Relay Commission, who added that organizers are also in contact with the health ministry.
