There have been calls for Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to join forces with PAS and Umno in a purported "Pakatan Nasional" coalition.

However, when quizzed on whether he supports the idea, Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman sidestepped the issue.

The youth and sports minister said that there are many other issues the government needs to look at, and the focus should be on core issues.
