Unlike any other ordinary temples in Korea, Unjusa is like a trail in a forest or a mountain with various unique features of buddha statues and pagodas originated from Goryeo period.
On my way to the temple, we dropped by in Naju for lunch and had beef bone soup the place is famous for. After making a wish under a tree called Paeng tree, which is said to have been thunderstruck and survived, I went to Unjusa temple and had a wonderful time, curing my body and soul. I hope if you have a chance to visit southwestern korea, go visit Unjusa temple and take a look at those mysterious, warmhearted buddha statues and carefree, unique pagodas!
