To end this year and greet the new year at the same time, I played this well-known traditional Scottish music ‘Auld Lang Syne’ with Standing Symmetry Piano, known to have been written (poems collected) by Robert Burn and composed by William Shield in the 18th century. The song is also used as a melody of the previous national anthem that was sung before the official one nowadays. The score I used is the very basic score of the song, and I myself arranged the song in the variation part. I hope you'll love it and enjoy watching and listening. Plus, happy new year and keep healthy in the next year~!!

‘Standing Symmetry Piano’ is a way of playing the piano through which upper and lower body balance and left and right body balance can be achieved. While standing, bending knees and keeping your spine straightened makes your lower body strong, your spine keep fit, and your upper body more relaxed and free, which can lead to better piano playing.

*Lyrics of “Auld Lang Syne”

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !
and surely I’ll be mine !
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
