A determined security guard risked plunging through a 50ft high glass ceiling to retrieve a tourist's dropped phone.
The Indian holidaymaker was waiting to board a plane while leaning over a balcony at the roof at Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 8.
He dropped his smartphone and it landed on a glass ceiling below.
Security guard, Private Thawatchai Channamueng, was patrolling near the balcony when he heard the panic and rushed to help.
The brave security guard said it was dangerous to climb down and retrieve the mobile phone because the roof is made of glass but it was his duty to help the tourist.
He managed to return the unharmed smartphone to the tourist who was then able to catch his flight on time.
The security guard said: "I was patrolling around the corner when I heard the report come in on the radio. I rushed to the balcony to survey the situation.
"The tourist had dropped his phone on the glass ceiling, that was 50ft high from the ground, so it was quite dangerous to go down there but I had to because it is my duty.
"I tried to move slowly on the frame, avoid stepping on the glass and eventually grabbed the phone. I felt so proud of myself when I saw a smile on the tourist's face."
