About the recipe..
Chicken malai tikka or boti is a Chicken dish which comes into light from Punjab, a region in India. In this dish chicken pieces are marinated with all spices and cooked in tandoor. But today we will make this recipe with a twist by adding cheese which gives this dish a cheesy flavor and melt in mouth texture with aromatic flavor of coal. Ingredients for the recipe are as follows..
500 gm of boneless chicken cut into 1 and half inch pieces
1/3 cup of thick fresh cream
1/3 cup of thick curd (dahi)
2 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste
1 tbsp of lemon juice
1 tbsp of butter (room temp for marination)
1 tbsp of butter + 1 tbsp oil (for frying )
3 cheese cubes ( processed cheese)
1 tsp of black salt
1/2 tsp of garam masala ( mine is homemade)
1 tsp of black pepper powder
1 tsp of salt or as per your taste
1/2 tsp of green cardamom powder (hari elaichi)
One pinch of mace powder( javitri )
1 and half tbsp of chat masala
2 tbsp of cornflour
2 pieces of coal for smoky flavor (optional )
Marination time 1 hr( preferred overnight)
If marination is done overnight in fridge,take it out half an hr before cooking.
This dish can also be made in otg oven.
