The protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act have grown into a countrywide movement in the weeks since the legislation was passed by Parliament. now, Left parties on Thursday called for a week-long protest from January 1 to 7 against the CAA, NRC, NPR, and "mounting miseries of people due to economic slowdown."The Left parties will conduct a programme of solidarity campaigns to extend support to the all India general strike called by the central trade unions on January 8."

देशभर में नागरिकता संशोधन कानून के खिलाफ विपक्षी दलों का विरोध प्रदर्शन लगातार जारी है। कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी ऑफ इंडिया की ओर से भी इस कानून के खिलाफ एक हफ्ते के विरोध प्रदर्शन का ऐलान किया गया है। पार्टी की ओर से कहा गया है कि तमाम लेफ्ट दलों ने 1 जनवरी से 7 जनवरी तक एक हफ्ते का देशव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन का फैसला लिया है। ये प्रदर्शन सीएए, एनआरसी और एनपीआर और देश की गिरती अर्थव्यवस्था के मुद्दे पर किया जाएगा। यही नहीं 8 दिसंबर को देशव्यापी हड़ताल का भी आह्वाहन किया गया है।
