This was the tragic aftermath of a car accident that took the lives of two and injured another today (December 23) after an alleged drunk driver mounted a Toronto pavement.

Footage shows emergency services attending the scene of the accident and others consoling each other.

The vehicle is said to have mounted the sidewalk on Progress Avenue at Markham Road in the city's east end.
