Home Minister Amit Shah has defended the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 from claims of anti-Muslim discrimination on the basis that it protects people from communities facing ‘religious persecution’ in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. But the term ‘religious persecution’ is never used in the CAB – so is this true?
