Russia Receives Four-Year Ban From Olympics Over Doping .
Russia will be unable to formally compete
in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and
the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
The World Anti-Doping Agency ruled
that officials in a Moscow anti-doping
laboratory tampered with data.
The tampering included the planting of
fake evidence and deletion of files
linked to positive doping tests.
The WADA committee's decision to impose a four-year ban on Russia was unanimous, according to an agency spokesperson.
Russian athletes can still compete at
major international sporting events
without their flag or anthem.
Russia's participation in the 2022 World Cup
in Qatar is also in question.
FIFA is in contact with WADA and the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations to clarify the extent of the decision in regards to football. , FIFA spokesperson, via ESPN.
The Russian Anti-Doping Agency has 21 days to appeal the decision
