This 45 year old patient from Dindugal came wheelchair-bound with severe pain in the back radiating to her leg since four months due to obesity. The pain was progressively increasing. She was clinically examined and her X-ray, MRI images were analyzed. Under the leadership of Dr. Suman, a team of Ortho, Spine, Neurosurgeons, and Anesthetists were involved and decided that she should undergo MICROSCOPIC DISCECTOMY of one disc which was compressing on the nerve. Her obese nature was a big challenge in performing such complex surgery. Postoperatively she had immediate relief within 6 hours and started walking on the same day. By the second day, she started climbing stairs and was discharged.
