South Korea will commercialize the next generation of solar batteries and push forward its plan to double the current mileage of electric vehicles by 2030.
It will also develop a technology to reduce fine dust emission from coal energy by more than 90 percent.
This is according to the energy ministry's R&D strategy for 16 major energy-focused technologies introduced on Monday.
The strategy was introduced at a hearing about the 4th energy technology development plan and roadmap.
The government said it will focus on promoting new energy industries, supplying clean and safe energy, innovating high efficiency and low energy consumption structure, and expanding the use of decentralized energy.
