Trump's Tax Returns Can
Be Subpoenaed by Congress,
Rules Federal Appeals Court.
In question are eight years of
President Donald Trump's tax returns
that were subpoenaed by Congress in March.
The D.C. Circuit Court ruled 8-3 to let
stand an earlier ruling by a three-judge
panel that allowed the action by the
House Oversight and Reform Committee. .
Seven of the eight judges were appointed
by Democratic presidents. The three who
sided with Trump were appointed by Republicans.
The court has given
Trump seven days to appeal.
Jay Sekulow, Trump's outside counsel,
stated that he and Trump "will be
seeking review at the Supreme Court.".
Trump also faces a New York grand jury bid
attempting to gain access to his tax returns
as part of the investigation into hush money
paid out before the 2016 election.
Both cases could potentially
be reviewed by the Supreme Court
