John Legend Named 2019's
Sexiest Man Alive by 'People'.
On Nov 12, ‘People’ revealed
Legend to be the winner
of the magazine’s annual
sexiest man alive title. .
He is the 34th person to be awarded the title,
which started in 1985 with Mel Gibson and
was most recently held by Idris Elba in 2018. .
Following the news, Legend took to Twitter
to say he was “perplexed,” but thankful. .
“1995 John would be very perplexed to be following 2018 @IdrisElba
as #SexiestManAlive. Hell, 2019 John is about as equally perplexed
but thank you @People for finding me sexy. I'll take it.”

His wife, Chrissy Teigen, also celebrated the
news, changing her Twitter bio to read “currently
sleeping with people’s sexiest man alive.”.
In a separate interview, Legend confessed that
it was “a lot of pressure,” as people would be
“picking [him] apart” now that he held the title. .
“I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time
because it’s a lot of pressure … Everyone’s going to be
picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title.”
