U.S. stocks fall as U.S., China trade woes weigh

U.S. stocks were split on Monday as uncertainty continues to hang over U.S.-China trade talks, or at least over investors’ perception of them.
At closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose point-oh-four percent to 27-691, the S&P 500 lost two-tenths of a percent and the Nasdaq Composite dropped point-one percent.
On the Korean bourse, stocks closed lower on Monday amid renewed uncertainties over a trade deal between the United States and China following comments by President Donald Trump.
The benchmark KOSPI dropped six-tenths of a percent to 21-24 and the tech-heavy KOSDAQ lost one-half a percent.
Oil prices edged lower on Monday as little progress on U.S., China trade negotiations kept prices pressured, but bullish inventory data in the United States offered some support.
Brent crude futures lost 35 cents to settle at 62 dollars and 16 cents a barrel and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell 40 cents to settle at 56-84 a barrel.
