President Moon Jae-in says his government's mission is to stop corruption and establish a fair society.
He was speaking Friday at the Blue House... in a meeting attended by dozens of his administration's top officials.
"Expanding these anti-corruption meetings to focus on building a fair society makes clear the government's determination to make sure that equality takes root in all of Korean society, not only in fixing corruption."
President Moon emphasized the need to eliminate the unfair privileges enjoyed by powerful people... which influence investigations and trials.
He also called for equality in education and employment so that people are selected for their abilities rather than their regional and family backgrounds.
As for prosecutorial reform,...
President Moon credited the prosecution for how it's working actively on its self-reform, and instructed it to cooperate with the Justice Ministry in the process.
The prosecution, he said, has achieved a fair level of neutrality,... he said it still needs to better protect human rights in its investigation and indictment procedures.
