The festival of Gopaashtami is celebrated seven days after the Govardhan Puja during Diwali, i.e., the festival of Gopashtami will be celebrated on 4 November this year. On this day, Nanda Baba organized a ceremony for Shri Krishna and the cow. Lord Krishna and his elder brother Balarama took the cow to graze for the first time on this day in their childhood.

गोपाअष्टमी का त्योहार दिवाली के समय होने वाली गोवर्धन पूजा के सात दिन बाद मनाया जाता है अर्थात् इस वर्ष 4 नवंबर को गोपाअष्टमी का पर्व मनाया जाएगा। इस दिन नंद बाबा ने श्रीकृष्ण और गाय के लिए एक समारोह का आयोजन किया था। भगवान श्रीकृष्ण और उनके बड़े भाई बलराम बाल्यावस्था में इस दिन पहली बार गाय को चराने ले गए थे।
