Japanese ambassador visits funeral of President Moon's mother amid bilateral dispute

Despite President Moon's request to hold a private ceremony to mourn the death of his mother Kang Han-ok,... high-profile officials have been visiting all day to pay their respects.
Among them, the ambassadors of the U.S., Japan, China and Russia.
Especially notable was the visit by Yasumasa Nagamine, whose country is in a deepening row with South Korea over trade and historical issues.
They each spoke with the President for about five minutes.
The leaders of opposition political parties were also let in.
All of them, including Liberty Korea Party chair, Hwang Kyo-ahn, expressed their condolences.
Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon was also there,... briefly reporting on state affairs, including bilateral relations with Japan.
President Moon's mother passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92 due to chronic illness.
The three-day funeral held in a Cathedral in Busan ends tomorrow.
