Ewan McGregor Kept 'Star Wars' Spin-off a Secret for Four Years Ewan McGregor recently revealed that
it was a "massive relief" to not have to
keep the series a secret any longer. Ewan McGregor, via 'Men's Journal' McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan
Kenobi in the untitled project. The series will air on Disney+, with
production beginning in the summer of 2020. The show will be directed by Deborah Chow, who has worked on episodes of another 'Star Wars' spin-off series, 'The Mandalorian.' McGregor also confirmed more detail about how the series fits into the 'Star Wars' universe. Obi-Wan will deal with the fallout from his friend, Anakin Skywalker, turning to the Dark Side and the mass extermination of the Jedi at his hands.
