This is the shocking moment a pickup truck lost control on a wet road and slammed into an electrical pole.
The vehicle spun into the opposite lane while driving in heavy rain in Nakhon Si Thammarat, southern Thailand.
CCTV footage from Wednesday (15th October) afternoon shows how the truck skidded across the road and smashed into the concrete post, which instantly split the car in half.
The driver and a passenger were stuck in the car and needed to be cut free while the two other passengers could climb out.
Paramedics took the injured group to hospital but the driver KhunThawatchai, 28, woke up and ran away before police had a chance to interview him.
Police Liutenant Colonel Theerawut Thepluen said hospital cameras had recorded him runningaway which they would use as the evidence to find him.
He said: "The driver ran away after he gained consciousness at the hospital and the CCTV was able to show when he left.
"We will find him and interrogate him, because perhaps he was intoxicated while driving and caused the accident so he ran away."
