Maharashtra assembly elections: know the political equation of Latur City seat
The city of Latur was settled by Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj. Latur is a Lok Sabha constituency and it has two seats in the 288-seat assembly in Maharashtra. Latur Rural and Latur City Seat. The Latur assembly seat was divided into two seats after the 2008 delimitation, in which the Latur city assembly seat was amalgamated into an urban area. The Congress dominates the Latur city assembly seat. In the 2009 and 2014 assembly elections, Congress candidate Amit Deshmukh won this seat and became an MLA. Latur region is considered a stronghold of Congress.

लातूर शहर को छत्रपति साहूजी महाराज ने बसाया था। लातूर लोकसभा क्षेत्र है और महाराष्ट्र की 288 सीटों वाली विधानसभा में इस इलाके से दो सीटें हैं। लातूर ग्रामीण और लातूर शहर सीट। लातूर विधानसभा सीट को 2008 के परिसीमन के बाद दो सीटों में बांटा गया जिसमें शहरी क्षेत्र को मिलाकर लातूर शहर विधानसभा सीट बनाई गई। लातूर शहर विधानसभा सीट पर कांग्रेस का दबदबा रहा है। 2009 और 2014 के विधानसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार अमित देशमुख इस सीट पर जीतकर विधायक बने। लातूर क्षेत्र कांग्रेस का गढ़ माना जाता है।
