Typhoon Hagibis, which is expected to be the most powerful typhoon to hit Tokyo in decades, is also expected to impact Korea.
Weather authorities say strong winds and high waves are expected in the southern and eastern coastal regions including Jeju Island over the weekend.
The season's 19th typhoon is currently over waters south of Japan and is projected to make landfall in Tokyo early on Sunday morning.
Residents in coastal areas are advised to take precaution as the storm is expected to pack winds of over 100 kilometers per hour.
