The Nobel Prize in Literature winners are announced.
Polish author Olga Tokarczuk and from Austria, Peter Handke were awarded the honors for the year 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Each laureate receives over 9-hundred-10 thousand U.S. dollars in prize money.
This marks the second time in the academy's 1-hundred-18-year history that two literature prizes are given in the same year.
Last year it was postponed due to allegations of sexual misconduct in the Nobel committee.
