An explosion at a waste disposal centre near the Blue Danube airport in Linz has injured 5 this morning (October 10).

Footage shows plumes of black smoke rising from the facility.

The blast occurred at around 8:15 for reasons that are still unclear.

Police confirmed that two people suffered serious injuries and three others were not seriously hurt.
