Spectacular fireworks at Tiananmen Square marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on Tuesday (October 1st).

The impressive video, filmed in Beijing, shows the firework show displayed at the end of the National Day celebration gala.

The fireworks formed the number "70" and "long live people" in Chinese characters in the sky.

According to reports, 70 firework columns were placed along Chang'an avenue, representing the 70th anniversary of the county's founding.
