Bulgarian economist Kristalina Georgieva is officially named the next head of the International Monetary Fund.
The former World Bank CEO is the second woman, and the first person from an emerging-market economy, to lead the 1-hundred-89-member institution.
The IMF waived its age limit of 65 just one day before the deadline for candidate recommendations,... to allow the 66-year-old's nomination.
Georgieva is to take up the post on October 1st, replacing Christine Lagarde, who is expected to take over the European Central Bank later this year.
