British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is still attempting to reach a longshot Brexit deal...even after rather unproductive talks with the EU's chief Brexit negotiator.
During lunch with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Luxembourg on Monday, Johnson only reaffirmed that the UK will leave the EU on October 31st as scheduled ...with OR without a withdrawal agreement.
The European Commission insists it's Britain's responsibility to come up with "legally operational backstop solutions," but stressed such proposals haven't been made yet.
With less than seven weeks until Britain is due to leave the EU, Johnson has yet to reach a Brexit agreement with Brussels.
Luxembourg, the host nation for Monday's talks, described the current situation as a "nightmare."
