J.K. Rowling Donates $19M
to Fund MS Research The author's mother, Anne Rowling, died from complications related to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1990 at the age of 45. J.K. helped set up the
Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic
at Scotland's University of Edinburgh in 2010. She has now gifted the
university with $19 million
in order to pay for new facilities
