Kalaburagi: In a miraculous escape for an elderly woman, a moving train went over the lady when she was attempting to cross the railway platform at Chitapur Railway Station in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka.

Just before the woman tried to cross the railway track, many people raised an alarm and warned her not to do so as the train was approaching fast. In the meantime, the woman slipped on the tracks and the fast-approaching train went right over her.

But the woman's presence of mind saved her as she cowered on the tracks until the train went away. The onlooker also shouted at the woman to lie low as the goods train mover over her.

The woman lay down on the tracks to wait for the train to pass over her.

Later, the woman was taken to the hospital by railway authorities but was discharged after as she did not suffer any injury.

Meanwhile, the railways have ordered an inquiry as to how there were no guards at the tracks and the woman was allowed to cross the tracks. The video of the incident has now gone viral on social media.
