MANILA - Senator Juan Ponce Enrile was allowed to go for his scheduled eye check-up at the Asian Eye Institute in Makati on Saturday morning. Enrile was brought to Makati on an ambulance with several security forces around 7 a.m. The check-up only lasted less than an hour and he was immediately brought back to Camp Crame. Enrile's lawyer, Enrique Dela Cruz, earlier said that the senator's eyes need to be injected with a special medicine regularly. He added Enrile may go blind if he does not take the medicine. On Friday, Enrile turned himself in. He was brought to the Philippine National Police General Hospital after his blood pressure shot up. Enrile will be spending the entire weekend in hospital. His family is hoping for hospital arrest.
