Trade officials from the U.S. and China are struggling to agree on the schedule for a planned meeting this month,... to continue trade negotiations after Washington rejected Beijing's request to delay the tariffs that took effect over the weekend.
According to a report by Bloomberg,... the world's two biggest economies have yet to agree on basic terms of re-engagement,... citing mistrust on both sides.
Meanwhile, China announced on Monday it had lodged a complaint with the World Trade Organization,... after the U.S. imposed a 15-percent tariff on 125-billion dollars of Chinese goods.
China's Commerce Ministry says the tariffs imposed by the U.S. "severely violate" the agreement reached by the two heads of state in Osaka,... referring to the G20 Summit in June.
